Events

The Shenandoah Valley is always teeming with activity. In addition to many year round attractions like the caverns and Skyline Drive, there are also big events in the area throughout the year.

May - Luray's highly-anticipated Festival of Spring. This one-day family-friendly celebration is free to the public and features live music, artisans & crafts, and unique entertainment.

June - The Luray Swim Fest features a fun and competitive open water swimming opportunity. You can combine distances as they will not overlap, and will be eligible for podium awards for each race you enter.

July - Doah Fest is more than a music festival, it's an opportunity to get away and relax, a chance to get in touch with nature, be exposed to new ideas, music and art. Starting Friday afternoon the bands kick off and begin to fill the farm with great music. Jam, reggae, rock, bluegrass, indie and more on two stages by the river. Unlike any other festival, Doah allows you direct access to the Shenandoah River.

July, August, September - Shenandoah Valley Music Festival presents 8 to 10 concerts per season that offer music from wide variety of genres. Past performers have included Mary Chapin Carpenter, Arlo Guthrie, Rhonda Vincent, The Temptations, Kris Kristofferson, Ricky Skaggs, Rosanne Cash, The Oak Ridge Boys, LeAnn Rimes, Bruce Hornsby, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and more.

August - The Page Valley Agricultural and Industrial Fair is a classic country fair, exhibiting livestock, youth competitions, amusement rides, antiques, and much more.

August - The Luray International Triathalon offers a fun-filled, challenging triathlon weekend, with points toward your rankings with USA Triathlon.

October - The Page County Heritage Festival offers family entertainment, a wide variety of hand-crafted goods, exhibits of operating antique farm machinery, and plenty of good country cooking. Strictly handmade crafts, nothing commercial, all unique!
